The U.S. Embassy to Kazakhstan plans to provide the opportunity for broadcast, print, and online journalists from at least six cities of Kazakhstan to gain skills in English language required for their professional needs. We envision holding classes in Astana, Almaty, Aktau, Karaganda, Kostanay and Shymkent, although prospective grantees may propose alternate or additional cities in their proposals. This funding opportunity is limited to not-for-profit, civil society/non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions with at least two years of programming experience. This experience should be documented in the organization’s proposal. Individuals and for-profit entities are not eligible to apply for this opportunity, please refer to Section IV for funding restrictions.
